Squash: Shelley Kitchen wins New York tournament

New Zealand's world No 14, Shelley Kitchen, won the Hyder Squash Open in New York today after a sensational fightback against England's Fiona Geaves in the final.

Kitchen lost the opening two games 10-8 and 9-6 to the world No 7 but bounced back to win the next three 9-0 9-1 and 9-3. Geaves is the highest-ranked opponent Kitchen has beaten on the world circuit, with the victory continuing a recent run of impressive performances.

Kitchen's next event is the Salt Lake City Open later this week.
