Squash: Hawkes' hot run ends in Ohio squash final

New Zealand's Jaclyn Hawkes has finished runner-up at the Dayton Squash Open in Ohio.

The fifth seed, who upset New Zealand No 1 Shelley Kitchen in the semifinals, lost the decider to world No 9 Omneya Abdel Kawy of Egypt 9-5, 9-5, 3-9, 9-5.

Hawkes, who is ranked 24th in the world, had a successful run at the American tournament, eliminating third seeded Englishwoman Lauren Briggs in the quarters before outlasting Kitchen 8-10, 10-9, 9-3, 1-9, 9-6 to make the final.
