Squash: Aussies beaten by junior women

New Zealand beat Australia to finish seventh at the junior women's world squash championships in Belgium yesterday. The eighth-seeded New Zealanders had a 2-0 playoff win over Australia.

New Zealand No 1 Joelle King beat Vanessa Pickerd 9-4, 9-3, 9-2 before Kerry Wickett sealed victory, fighting back from two games down to beat Jessica Gillett 4-9, 1-9, 9-4, 9-4, 9-5.

New Zealand missed a chance at a top-five placing on Sunday with a 2-1 loss to Malaysia.
