Soccer: Snake bites Deportivo player

Deportivo La Coruna soccer defender Enrique Romero spent the night in hospital after being bitten by a snake at an airport on his way to a league game, Spanish media reported yesterday.

Deportivo players noticed the snake on the tarmac at the airport in Pamplona after arriving for their weekend league game against Osasuna.

According to reports, Romero was bitten on the hand after approaching the snake and had to be taken to hospital, where he was kept in overnight as a precaution.
