Soccer: Former Australian captain Warren has cancer

Former Australian soccer captain Johnny Warren has revealed he has cancer.

His condition was diagnosed last November and he will soon begin chemotherapy.

Warren's treatment in Sydney is being conducted under the supervision of the MD Anderson clinic in Houston, Texas, where four-time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong was treated.

Warren, 59, said he would use his public profile to boost awareness of the disease.
