Borrusia Dortmund forward Robert Lewandowski scored a late clincher in a 2-1 win at Arsenal in Group F of the Champions League on Tuesday.
Lewandowski met a cross from right back Kevin Grosskreutz to side-foot past Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny at the far post in the 82nd minute.
The visitors scored first when Henrikh Mkhitaryan drove in a low shot in the 16th that beat Szczesny after Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey lost possession.
Arsenal equalized in the 41st when Olivier Giroud fired the ball into an empty net from a yard out after a cross from Bacary Sagna caused confusion in the box. The ball deflected off Weidenfeller's torso and looped up perfectly for Giroud.
Both teams have six points after three matches in Group F.
Meanwhile, Fernando Torres scored twice as Chelsea won 3-0 at Schalke to replace the German side at the top of Group E in the Champions League on Tuesday.
On his 100th start for Chelsea, Torres scored with a simple header in the fifth minute after being left unmarked at the far post for a corner.
Torres effectively sealed the result on a counterattack in the 69th, when Oscar crossed for the Spaniard to take it past the goalkeeper with his first touch and slot to the empty net with his next.
Eden Hazard wrapped up the scoring three minutes from time on another breakaway, helped by Torres' intelligent run.
Steaua Bucharest drew 1-1 at home with Basel in the other group game, meaning Schalke is second behind Chelsea on goal difference.
In Italy, Leo Messi scored a first-half equaliser to earn Barcelona a 1-1 draw against AC Milan in Group H of the Champions League on Tuesday.
Robinho gave Milan a deserved lead after only nine minutes, steering the ball home from close range after he and fellow Brazilian Kaka pounced on some poor defending by Barcelona. Messi leveled in the 23rd from a similar range after being left in space by Milan's rearguard.
Barcelona completely dominated the second half, but created little in the way of scoring chances against a packed Milan defense.
Barcelona, which had previously beaten Ajax and Celtic, remains two points clear of Milan at the top of the group.
