The 24-year-old, who made her international debut at 17, spoke to She's Got Game this week about her tough road back to full fitness.
"The first thing I thought of was Rio," said Wilkinson, who was this week confirmed in the 18-strong Football Ferns line-up for Rio.
"I did have some doubts initially, but I knew if I worked hard I would make it back to how I looked before on the field, so through a lot hard work, I think I'm pretty close now.
"Thankfully I didn't do it any later, I would have been cutting it pretty fine."
