Sandilands: "Mum's going to be hearing this, she's going to start getting excited."
Warne: "Well maybe we'll have to have a blind date with your mum. How would you feel if you had to call me Dad?"
The tongue-in-cheek exchange followed Warne's revelation he had stopped pursuing Electra, the former Baywatch babe he texted during his time on I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here earlier this year.
"We did swap emails with managers and then it all went quiet," Warne said. "Then a mutual friend, an American lady, who was going away with Carmen for a weekend (said) apparently she's seeing someone. So it didn't eventuate (but) her loss. Her loss."
Warne's dating life continues to generate interest in the UK. The briefest of interactions with actress Emily Ratajkowski on Instagram prompted fresh headlines.
"Apparently I'm trying to chase Emily because I liked a photo on her Instagram page. I just liked a photo, I didn't do anything else," Warne said.
"I follow a few on Instagram. I can't remember which ones I write a comment on and which ones I don't. But it's all good in that part of the world."
Australia's all-time leading Test cricket wicket taker turns 47 next week and plans to celebrate by taking his children to a Mexican restaurant.
He confirmed he'd recently bought back his former Brighton mansion in Melbourne - a purchase that was estimated to be in the $14 to $16 million range.
"I paid a lot more for it than what I sold it for," Warne said. "It stung but I know the kids and I will be happy when we're in there.
"The kids loved that house. They saw it on the market and said, 'Dad, look our old house is for sale.' I'm good friends with the current owner and so we spoke ... I put in an offer and it was accepted."
