Shane Warne blows up over poker tournament losses

Shane Warne has posted a foul-mouthed blow-up on social media after he was taken down in the World Series of Poker Main Event no-limit Hold'em championship at the Rio Convention Centre in Las Vegas.

The Aussie Test legend vented his frustration at the cards not falling his way when he dropped a huge amount of tournament chips.

Warne entered the Main Event tournament by paying the $US10,000 buy-in registration fee as one of 6,737 players all competing for the $US8 million winner's prize.

The poker tragic began the tournament solidly on Wednesday (NZT), but things took an unexpected turn when he lost big on consecutive hands on Thursday (NZT).

Warne posted on Twitter he has "never been so angry in all my life" after losing out big time.

Never been so angry in all my life. Got Aces two hand in a row & both cracked. Once by 2 pair (KQ). Next hand 6's found a 6 on the flop ! 😡

Warney kicked off his tournament by sharing a snap of his buy-in receipt, clearly showing his name and the fact it set him back $US10,000.

And following pics of the Aussie trudging around the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino with an e-cigarette in his mouth, the 46-year-old was caught forgetting his poker face at the table, The Sun reports.

While the key to poker seems to be never letting the table read your emotion, it was clearly all too much for the former spin king, as he pictured looking glum while fiddling with his chips.

Following the less than ideal showing on day one of the event, the ever-outspoken Warne took to Twitter to share his experience, claiming he would get back on track during the second day.

He said: "Toughest day one I've had in 9 years of competing in the #WSOP main event.

"Going to hang in there & try make it through to day 2 #patience."
