Yachting: America's Cup date, venue announced

The next America's Cup has been set for September 2013 in San Francisco with a challenger series planned for July-August of the same year.

Regatta Director Ian Murray has confirmed the 34th America's Cup will start on September 7 2013 in San Francisco.

The challenger will be selected from the Louis Vuitton Cup to be sailed from mid July to September 1 2013.

Commentator Peter Montgomery says now the focus switches to how many serious challenges there will be and how many will be genuinely funded, to have a realistic chance of winning.
