Stars & Stripes beat GBR

Team Dennis Conner went 3-1 up in their best-of-seven America's Cup challenger quarter final contest against Britain's GBR Challenge with a 34sec win today.

Team Dennis Conner got off to a great start on the Hauraki Gulf, being 14sec ahead of GBR over the start line.

For the first time during the Louis Vuitton Cup, skipper Ian Walker took the helm on the British boat during the prestart.

GBR looked better today than in their past two races, closing up on Stars&Stripes on the first downwind leg to cut the margin from 35sec at the first mark to 14sec at the second.
