March 27 - The Government confirms the loss of the qualifying round in Auckland would mean zero funding for Team New Zealand.
April 20 - The America's Cup Events Authority, as part of sweeping cost-cutting measures, reneges on an agreement awarding Auckland hosting rights for the qualifying series in early 2017, ending Team NZ's chances of any further Government investment in the next campaign.
April 20 - On whether the Government would fund the team Prime Minister John Key says"I think we're at the end of the road really".
April 20 - The confirmation of the commercial wasteland of Bermuda as the venue for the 2017 event also hits Team NZ hard, forcing them to slash $20 million from their budget and undergo an extensive restructure
May 4 - Keith Turner resigns as chairman of the syndicate after just over a year in the post.
May 12 - Some good news! Team NZ announce their major sponsor, Emirates, has recommitted to the next campaign - the strongest indication yet the team are back on track to challenge in Bermuda in 2017.
May 21 - Barker is named skipper and chief executive of new Japanese team. Does not rule out not the possibility of further Kiwis being involved in his new team.
