Blog: In Valencia, all that glitters... (+audio)

It's pretty quiet in Valencia when there's no racing on.

Well, we are just three days out from the America's Cup.

So far the America's Cup Port in Valencia has been ridiculously quiet. The only signs of life have been Team New Zealand and Alinghi going in and out to the race course each day.

Yesterday Alinghi didn't even go out.

Rumour has it there is a big festival here over the weekend and they are expecting big crowds. Thank goodness for that. It is a bit boring with just us.

Team New Zealand and Alinghi have taken slightly different approaches leading up to the match. Alinghi have been quite vocal. We have seen Alinghi owner Ernesto Bertarelli take a few shots at Team New Zealand. Team New Zealand have wisely shut up shop and stayed quiet.

Yesterday Alinghi held a fashion show at their base displaying a new line of Alinghi clothes and jewellery from Bertarelli's wife Kirsty. Mrs Bertarelli has created a special clothing range and limited edition jewellery collection to show her support for the team during the America's Cup Match.

Not just any jewellery. No siree. This is jewellery is believed to be made of white gold. One charm for a charm bracelet is understood to set you back 5000 euros.

Peter wants his wife Susie to know that he has purchased her the bracelet and necklace set for Christmas. Hee hee.
