Team New Zealand has retained a narrow lead in the America's Cup world series after finishing fourth in the four-race Chicago leg.
Dean Barker's Japan won two of the four races on Lake Michigan, the first freshwater venue in America's Cup history, while the Swiss boat Artemis finished on
top.
Team New Zealand did taste victory during the series, but that particular race did not end up counting for points under the substitute system.
Overall ranking positions in the America's Cup World Series determines the starting points score of the teams in the America's Cup qualifiers next year.
Five challengers are vying to take on Team USA in the America's Cup final in Bermuda next year.
