Long-time Radio Sport commentator Willie Lose has been moved aside, to make way for new weekend sports programmes on Newstalk ZB.

Lose had been hosting Scoreboard on a Saturday afternoon, as well as his 7pm to 8pm slot on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

He has lost all three programmes, and has been given "a new opportunity'' which he is "still considering'' according to a Radio Network statement.

Radio Sport breakfast co-host Tony Veitch will host two new weekend programmes.

Veitch on Saturday will air on Newstalk ZB from 12pm to 6pm from March 31, and the Sport Power Hour will run on Sundays between 8am and 9am.

Both programmes will be simulcast on Radio Sport when the station is not carrying sports commentaries.

Veitch will reduce his commitments on Radio Sport breakfast from five days a week to three days.

The other two weekday breakfast shows will be hosted by Rikki Swannell.
