You'd struggle to find a more relaxed bloke than Marty Banks.
Very little seems to worry the Hurricanes utility but that carefree nature has arguably been a hindrance to his rugby career.
Time in the Heartland Championship, a stint in Russia and a collection of club appearances from around New
Zealand was about all his CV amounted to before he delivered for Tasman in the ITM Cup last year and won a Hurricanes contract.
Training is something the 24-year-old never put too much time into as his carefree nature shone through but since his arrival in Wellington that attitude has changed. Banks has heightened his attention to recovery, while the cameras at Hurricanes training can be a reminder of what you're doing right or wrong.
"You can't really throw a bad pass because you see it over and over again when you're reviewing your game," Banks said. "That's a good thing because up until now I probably haven't worked on too many things. It's just been take it easy and float on through."
