Rugby: Carter out with neck injury

A neck injury has put Crusaders first five-eighth Daniel Carter out of their Super 14 rugby clash against the Waratahs in Sydney on Saturday.

All Black superboot Carter left the field just before the end of the Crusaders match against the Stormers at Jade Stadium last Saturday complaining of a sore shoulder.

He was said to be fine in non-contact practice this week, but Crusaders management said he was struggling today.

Stephen Brett replaces Carter, with Caleb Ralph coming on to the bench.
