Lions coach Warren Gatland has been ripped apart on social media following their loss to the Blues last night.
With less than two weeks till the Lions take on the All Blacks, the Lions crashed to defeat against the Blues, who are sitting at the bottom of New Zealand's SuperRugby table.
"We will have learned a lot from tonight [Wednesday], and we will continue to improve," Gatland said.
"We played a lot better and put ourselves in a position to win the game. Saturday is going to be another tough encounter."
He suggested hat the level of the Super Rugby teams in this country is pretty close to the All Blacks, when explaining the loss.
However, the UK Press and many Lions' fans were not buying his excuses.
In the Telegraph, former Lions first five-eighth Stuart Barnes said his comments were out of touch.
"A statement so out of touch with rugby reality that you wonder whether the Lions management's heads are in the clouds, clouds so long and white they can't see the way which way they are heading."
