Form players may be key to picking the winning combination for Fantasy freaks

Just one proper round into the Super 15 and after a small sample size of performances, Fantasy players who struggled last week have to make a decision - stick to their initial instincts or panic and pick the in-form players.

If you are looking for an in-form player you can't go past Tim Nanai-Williams, who proved he's just as lethal at centre as he is on the wing by producing two tries and 38 points against the Highlanders. At $9.5 million he's top of the range but if you're looking for a slightly cheaper option you could consider teammate Bundee Aki, who scored 21 Fantasy points and is $500,000 cheaper.

The expected
You know what you're going to get from Bulls five-eighths Morne Steyn each week; plenty of converted kicks at goal and he did just that in his side's opening win with seven successful kicks leading to 28 points. For $500,000 less you could instead buy Sharks five-eighths Patrick Lambie who also kicked seven kicks at goal and wasn't far behind with 27 points.

The unexpected
It's early days but 18-year-old Kings winger Sergeal Petersen could be the buy of the season after producing 25 points last week against the Force. At just $7.5 million he could be a steal compared to most starting wingers but there remains a huge question mark hovering over a player who was taking on schoolboys last season. Similar doubts hang over the Kings - still expected to finish bottom of the South African Conference. The Kings are on the bye this week but if you want to take a punt on the youngster, consider picking him up ahead of week four when the Super 15 newcomers host the Sharks.

Bye bye
The bye plays a crucial role in deciding which players should be dropped from your team each week. There were a number of Crusaders players who featured on the most picked list last week despite the fact they weren't even playing. The Brumbies have two of the top five scorers (back-rower Ben Mowen and back Jesse Mogg) in the competition but they have the week off. The Highlanders also take round three off.

Buy low, sell high
Player values will start to fluctuate after today's trade lockdown based on performance - so keep an eye out for bargain buys.

Best buys
The Chiefs looked slick last week against the Highlanders and come against the Cheetahs tomorrow. But after a long trip from Bloemfontein to Hamilton, along with an extra day's rest for the Chiefs, the Cheetahs should struggle against the defending champions.

Stay away
Four Force players scored in the negatives last weekend.Since they haven't won in South Africa since 2010, and face a huge test against the Bulls at Loftus Versfeld, it might be wise to avoid any Force players.
