A ticket to the next World Cup final will cost New Zealand fans up to $960.
Rugby World Cup 2007 Organising Committee bigwigs who were in Auckland yesterday outlined the ticketing procedures.
Tournament administrator Claude Atcher said 40,000 of the 80,000 seats at Paris' Stade de France, the venue fornext October's final, will go on sale to the public.
A Category 1 ticket, the best seats available to the public, will cost €480. A Category 4 ticket, seats generally high up in the corners, will sell for €99 ($200).
Final tickets are not included in the two packages - city packs and team packs - available now.
All Black fans will almost certainly be drawn to the team packs, available to followers of France, England, South Africa, Ireland, Australia, Wales, Scotland and New Zealand.
The team packs come in three types, with four seating categories in each pack.
The cheapest package includes tickets for pool games only and range from $260 for the cheapest seats to $1160 for the best. The next package includes a quarter-final ticket and prices range from $390 to $1645. The third package includes a quarter-final and semifinal ticket and costs from $620 to $2470.
At the top end, New Zealand team packs are the third-most expensive behind only France and England, with numerous Kiwi expats living in the UK expected to follow the team.
Tickets for individual matches will go on sale in November.
Atcher said 10 per cent of tickets will cost $30 or less, 25 per cent will cost $40 or less and 30 per cent of tickets will be at comparable prices to a Six Nations match.
"This [tournament] will be a success only if the stadiums are full and there is a sort of spirit across the 45 days," organising committee chief executive Etienne Thobois said.
