BAD KARMA Tongan church leaders were dismayed at their team having to play a Sunday game at the cup.
Last night's match against Wales was their only one on the Sabbath, but the Rev Benjamin Fonua, of the Free Wesleyan Church, was not impressed.
"According to the constitution of our country, it is illegal to play any kind of sports on Sundays," he told Radio Australia. " ... "Sending a national team from Tonga and allowing the players to play on a Sunday is strongly opposed by our Church."
