Nikolay Nerush has resigned as the head coach of Russia following the team's dissapointing appearance at the Rugby World Cup.
Russia lost all of their pool matches during their debut at the tournament.
Nerush took on the coaching role during 2008, Radio New Zealand reported.
"I took this decision a
long time ago," he said after their final game on Saturday.
"When I took up the team our main target was to qualify for the World Cup. We have accomplished this goal, so I deem my job to be done," he told Radio New Zealand.
