The Wales Online news website has reported that ITV figures showed almost 12 million people watched the tense final minutes of the Wales and England game in Britain.
The site said 11.6 million viewers, 49 per cent of everyone watching TV at that time, were tuned in to the game at 9.50pm (UK time) -- shortly after Welshman Dan Biggar kicked a long-range penalty to win his side the game.
Meanwhile, Argentina v. Georgia on Saturday morning at 3.45am got about 11,500 viewers on New Zealand TV and Italy v Canada at 1.30am on Sunday morning had just over 8000.
A replay of the Italy and Canada game at 10am on Sunday clearly benefitted from the England v Wales crowd, and pulled in slightly more than 84,000 viewers on SKY sport 1.
South Africa v Samoa at 4.45am on Sunday morning would have surely been watched by more people if at a decent hour. The game had between 50,000 and 60,000 viewers live on SKY Sport 1 and a replay at 12pm got another 50,500.
The Wallabies . Uruguay match at midnight on Sunday had just over 18,000 viewers.
The figures are sourced from Nielsen TV Audience Measurement (TAM) AP5+ and are based on a national audience of 4,200,881.
