Rugby World Cup 2015: Avian oracle scores with first pecks

Prophetic parrot Richie the Macaw correctly picked two Rugby World quarter-final results.

But the question remains - can the bird maintain his winning ways, or was he just winging it?

When asked if his clairvoyant skills were legit, the cheeky crystal gazer simply said "hello".

The Herald's 2015 Rugby World Cup oracle has chosen the winners of today's two quarter-final games - picking Argentina to beat Ireland and choosing Scotland to walk all over the Wallabies.

But the 2-year-old avian augur was not overly confident about his picks - wavering for some time over the Pumas and Irish flags before taking a nibble on the South American country's blue and white triband.

When it came to the clash between the Highlands and the Outback the macaw eventually went for the bowl bearing the St Andrew's Cross, signifying a historic victory over Australia at Millennium Stadium, Cardiff.
