Rugby World Cup goal kickers will have a maximum of one minute to take penalties or conversions at next month's tournament in a bid to curb time wasting.
The time limit will be used at the World Cup for the first time and if players fail to get their kick away within a minute of the kicking tee arriving, any successful conversions will be rubbed out.
If a penalty attempt exceeds the limit the kick will be declared void and a scrum set. There is no dispensation if the ball falls off the tee.
