AUSTRALIA 90 ROMANIA 8
BRISBANE - Centre Elton Flatley scored the fastest try in World Cup history to inspire Australia to a 90-8 victory this evening over Romania.
Flatley raced over the Romania line just 18 seconds into the pool A match after hooker Brendan Cannon had driven the ball deep into
the opposition half.
Fullback Mat Rogers collected a hat-trick of tries while Matthew Burke and Stephen Larkham each scored twice for the world champions who looked back to their best after an indifferent display in their opening match against Argentina.
It was Australia's second highest test victory after their 92-10 win over Spain in Madrid two years ago.
