They've stolen our colours and now the England side is trying to take the All Blacks' name too.
English players wore a black jersey - their away strip - for last night's match against Argentina in Dunedin.
On the front page of UK newspaper the Independent yesterday, the team wasdescribed as "The new All Blacks" , drawing strong reaction here.
The jersey colour choice was "pretty cheeky" for the team's away strip, said former All Black Brian Lochore. "But you can't do anything about it."
Former All Black Grahame Thorne said the English had a "long way to go" to meet our players' standard. "I'd be embarrassed to be compared to the England team quite frankly. They played like a team that didn't have any idea," he said.
Seeing another team wearing the All Blacks' colour was unnerving, wrote Minister of Police Judith Collins on her Facebook page. "It's very strange watching the England, Argentina game with the English in all black. Doesn't seem quite right."
Former All Blacks captain Wilson Whineray wasn't concerned about the double-up. "It doesn't worry me. But why don't they want to wear their traditional colours?"
