Chile back in cup contention

Chile beat the United States 21-13 in Santiago to revive their chances of winning a berth in next year's rugby World Cup in Australia.

In a simultaneous match in the four-team series played in the Uruguayan capital of Montevideo, Uruguay upset Canada 25-23.

Canada have already qualified with 13 points. They are followed by the United States with nine, Chile eight and Uruguay six.

In the final round of matches next weekend, Chile will host Canada and the United States will meet Uruguay.

The two top teams qualify for the cup.
