English soccer star David Beckham has sent a good-luck message to Jonny Wilkinson.
The England first five-eighth is more accustomed to dealing with the calling cards left by his muscular mates in tackling sessions. Showbiz is no biz for him.
Wilkinson, however, values both types of gesture.
"David has been very supportive and has been in contact to wish me well for the World Cup, which is fantastic," Wilkinson said.
"But flattery and acclaim don't motivate me. I have my own ambitions and set out my stall to try to meet them every time I play. That's what excites me. The reality is that I need all the other 14 guys to do their stuff if I am to ever get a chance for a shot at goal.
"It's good that we all have to depend on each other."
