MELBOURNE - Chris Latham has failed to retain a place in Australia's 22-man squad to play Ireland on Saturday despite his record try-scoring performance against Namibia last weekend.
Latham broke the Australian record for the most tries in a test when he touched down five times in the Wallabies' 142-0 demolitionof the African minnows, but it was not enough to earn him a place in this weekend's team.
Australia coach Eddie Jones has stuck with the same 22 that the Wallabies used for their opening match against Argentina, after shuffling his team for the matches with Romania and Namibia.
The only change was at tighthead prop where Ben Darwin, who started off the bench against the Pumas, was recalled to the starting side after regaining full fitness.
* South Africa coach Rudolf Straeuli has handed Derick Hougaard the responsibility of guiding the Springboks through their final pool C game against Samoa on Saturday.
The 20-year-old first five-eighth, uncapped before the World Cup, started the last game against Georgia and retains the position ahead of Louis Koen, who is on the bench.
Koen missed four consecutive kicks at goal in the first half of South Africa's game against England and it was his attempted clearance that was charged down by Lewis Moody for England's only try.
Hougaard is one of three changes from the team against England. The other two come in the front row where John Smit replaces Danie Coetzee at hooker and Faan Rautenbach comes in for Lawrence Sephaka.
