Australian rugby officials are still unhappy, despite winning approval for Waltzing Matilda to be sung before Australia's World Cup matches.
They asked the International Rugby Board to allow a performer to sing the ballad before each of the Wallabies' matches, even though it normally allows only national anthems.
The Australian Rugby Union argued that the song had special cultural significance, and top players said it inspired them to play better.
The IRB agreed, but only on condition it is sung before the players run on to the field.
But the ARU is unhappy, insisting the song be sung after the players have entered the arena.
