Chris Rattue rates the All Blacks in their 58-14 Rugby World Cup victory over Namibia in London.

ALL BLACKS

Colin Slade 6
An adequate day, when he needed a blinder. Tidy link in the first half, although almost gave up intercept. Switched to pivot and got an early hook. All a bit odd really.

Nehe Milner-Skudder 8
Far too zippy for these opponents, two top finishes, and loads of runs. Needs a signature game against one of the big guns now, but Waisake Naholo looms.

Malakai Fekitoa 6
Lively start but drifted badly and some mistakes. Bumped off in Johan Deysel try.

Sonny Bill Williams 8
Fabulous first half work a match highlight, including brilliant offload for Fekitoa try.

Julian Savea 7
Best work through the middle of the field, great charge for try, but still off his best and rash of second half errors.

Radio Sport: Tournament headlines

Beauden Barrett 6
Stuff to admire and classic Barrett try but his goalkicking wasn't good enough, especially from the right hand side. That is a major potential problem. Lack of command when going got tough.

TJ Perenara 5
Still failing to bring his A game to the big stage - no running or backing up to speak of and some scruffy moments. Also lack of command.

Victor Vito 7
Game of two halves, excuse the cliche. Very lively opening but got lost in the second half mess.

Sam Cane 6
Turned into a tough day for the new captain. Considering the possession dominance, he didn't shine with the ball. And his team lost their way badly.

Jerome Kaino 7
Good tough hitting and knuckled down to the job. The worry is he may get burnt out for the big games ahead.

Sam Whitelock 5
Two poor passes started the second half rot and he also missed the tackle on Deysel. Rather anonymous and dragged early.

Luke Romano 6
A bit more vigorous than Whitelock but also errors. Managed to bump off Burger - a rare feat.

Charlie Faumuina 8
Demolished the Namibian scrum and some presence with the ball.

Codie Taylor 6
Made ground but it tended to be out wide, whereas the All Blacks needed control of the middle. Lineout throwing okay but not perfect.

Ben Franks 8
Ditto for Faumuina - a good vigorous game and scrum far too good for Namibia.

Reserves
Keven Mealamu - DNP
Not required - a well-deserved lucky break for the veteran considering the second half dross.

Wyatt Crockett (Faumuina, 63m) 4
A knock on and little else

Tony Woodcock - DNP
Ditto Mealamu.

Kieran Read (Whitelock, 51m) 6
Worked hard to get the All Blacks back on track without luck. Playing lock is no way to treat the great No. 8.

Richie McCaw (Kaino, 62m) 6
Showed up like he always does on limited time.

Tawera Kerr-Barlow (Perenara, 47m) 5
Nothing startling, yet efficient on his comeback. Worth persisting with considering Perenara's no show.

Ma'a Nonu (Williams, 62m) 4
Largely useless after joining the mess and stumbled on his best moment.

Ben Smith (Slade, 51m) 7
Started with a mistake but there were glimpses of his great game which was a ray of hope in the second half rubble.

NAMIBIA

Team rating 8
Surprisingly good scoreline, and they were spoilers for Africa. Will have shown leading sides how the All Blacks can be shut down. But they had to push the offside line and a few other things to do it and the end result was a horror show to watch. A for Effort and a great day for Namibian rugby in a weird sort of way.

Namibia's best
Tinus du Plessis
The blindside flanker hurled himself into the game, making an endless series of tackles.

Jacques Burger
The famous captain and flanker wasn't at his best and botched a couple of tackles but still a mighty warrior.

Johan Tromp
The fullback's outstanding defensive skills and reads were an unlikely first half highlight.

Thenus Kotze
Landed the penalties which made the scoreboard look okay.
