All Black Rugby World Cup jersey ranked the best by British newspaper

The All Blacks' latest jersey is nearly completely black, tailored and tight-fitting.

The All Blacks' sleek all black get-up has been named the best jersey of the Rugby World Cup by a British newspaper.

While the USA's stars-and-stripes adorned shirt came in last in the Telegraph's rankings, the black jersey topped the list with a score of 9.5 out of 10 - losing half a point for being "still a bit tight".

Launched last year, the All Blacks' latest jersey is nearly completely black, tailored and tight-fitting.

The Telegraph paid tribute to the history of the jersey and its links to the Originals team of 1905, summing up its conclusion by crediting its effectiveness in intimidating opponents.

"Yes, the mythology can be a bit wearisome in the end but - if the purpose of a sporting uniform is to make its wearers look scary, unbeatable, awe-inspiring and downright brilliant - then this one does the job."

Samoa's blue jersey with tribal designs came in a close second, with the Telegraph dubbing it as "something that looks straight out of a superhero comic book".

However, Australia didn't fare too well and the canary yellow and green jersey came in at 14th place as it "doesn't win them any extra style points".
