O'Connor, a veteran of 36 Tests, had no such problems in the second half and said he would work on it during the summer.
"I don't see it as a major issue. I will tweak it over the off-season," he said.
The 21-year-old had similar problems during last month's World Cup quarter-final in New Zealand.
However, referee Bryce Lawrence ruled South African winger JP Pietersen had moved too early and O'Conner was allowed a re-kick which he missed.
Wallabies coach Robbie Deans said the coaching staff would chat with O'Connor about his routine before Saturday's clash against Wales in Cardiff.
"I think it was on the basis that he had moved which he had been doing routinely," Deans said.
"It has happened on a number of occasions.
"But the referees have never allowed the charging player to go through with it but, in this instance, (French referee) Romain (Poite) did."
