England score six tries to crush holders Wales

LONDON - England scored six tries to crush Six Nations title holders Wales 47-13 at Twickenham today.

A breakaway try by wing Mark Cueto and flanker Lewis Moody's touchdown from a pushover by the pack at a lineout in the first half helped England into a 15-10 halftime lead.

Centre Mark Tindall and substitutes Lawrence Dallaglio and Matt Dawson, all World Cup winners in 2003, plus replacement fullback Tom Voyce added to England's try count in the second half.

First five-eighths Charlie Hodgson kicked 13 points and his substitute Andy Goode two conversions.

Wales replied with first half try by flanker Martyn Williams after a cheeky run through a flat-footed defence at a lineout by halfback Dwayne Peel and first five-eighths Stephen Jones' conversion and two penalties.

Ireland beat Italy 26-16 in the tournament's opening match in Dublin earlier on Saturday. Scotland are at home to France tomorrow NZ time.
