Canterbury retain Ranfurly Shield

Canterbury were made to work hard when they beat Bay of Plenty to retain the Ranfurly Shield at Jade Stadium, Christchurch today.

Canterbury scored three tries through Caleb Ralph, Sam Broomhall and Andrew Mehrtens, while Ben Blair kicked four penalties and two conversions.

For Bay of Plenty Glen Jackson was successful with four penalties and two conversions, while Nili Latu and Apoua Stewart scored tries.

Canterbury led 22-16 at halftime.
