This year is the third straight in which the Black Ferns will play at least five matches. Vice captain Kendra Cocksedge said having five games on the schedule for the side was "absolutely awesome."
The veteran halfback was confident there would come a time where the team would play more than one game at home in a year on a regular basis, but for now it was just a matter of taking matches as they came.
From the start of 2015 to the end of this season, the Black Ferns will have played 21 matches, and just six in New Zealand. While five of those 21 were during last year's World Cup, more often than not they've been plying their craft overseas.
"Any games we get, we'll take," Cocksedge said. "It's really cool for us to get together mid-year and at the end of the year."
Saturday's test will be the side's fourth at Eden Park in the past six years, and their first since 2016. Much like the All Blacks, Eden Park has historically been a happy hunting ground for the Black Ferns during that span – winning all three outings at the ground by an average margin of 53 points.
"For us to be able to play there, we're got a lot of girls who are from Auckland," Cocksedge said. "There's a lot of family and friends who live up here so playing in front of them is super exciting.
"With the Black Ferns, our family and culture is really important for us. No doubt on Saturday most of the family and friends will be out there, we just need the other people to come along early as well."
