Wallabies gathering early to plot All Black downfall

While four New Zealand teams are preparing for Super Rugby quarter-finals the Australians are getting ready for the All Blacks.

It's the one upside of a sole Australian representative in the opening round of the playoffs this weekend, along with the potential of no Aussie teams left in the competition by 10pm tonight.

The Daily Telegraph reports the Wallabies squad will gather in Sydney next week to begin preparations for the Bledisoe Cup and Rugby Championship opener against the All Blacks in Sydney on August 20.

If the Brumbies lose to the Highlanders in Canberra tonight then all Wallabies players will be free to take part in the camp, while there is a chance four New Zealand teams will be preparing for the Super Rugby semifinals if all victorious this weekend.

Wallabies squad members will do some hard yards in Sydney for a few weeks before a move to the Central Coast for a pre-Bledisloe camp in August, The Daily Telegraph reports.

Adam Ashley-Cooper and Drew Mitchell are back and have been training at Coogee for a week already. So too Quade Cooper and Will Genia in Brisbane.

The All Blacks might not be able to fully assemble until after the Super Rugby final, which takes place on the weekend of August 6.
