All Blacks hooker Nathan Harris has revealed he poked fun at new skipper Kieran Read's pink boots last week.

Harris told Radio Sport's Crowd Goes Wild Breakfast show this morning that he wasn't too sure of the skipper's new boots after Read changed the "black boots only" protocol of former skipper Richie McCaw.

Harris couldn't help but make fun of the captain's new pink pair revealed at training before the first test at Eden Park.

"When we first arrived in Auckland and they were showing us our boots I was like 'Oh these look like Spiderman boots'.

"The guys looked and me and said, 'We've never actually thought of that.'

"And then we saw Reado's boots I said 'Mate are those for your daughters because they look like they are off Frozen or something."

The boots seem to be working for both Read and Harris as the duo were among the tryscorers in the win over Wales.

Harris said he used to wear white boots before a former boss told him he should wear black boots and pull his socks up.
