Rugby: Wallabies steeled to end losing streak

Forward Dean Mumm says the current Wallabies are the most determined he's been involved with as they attempt to end a 10-Test losing streak to the All Blacks in Hong Kong.

Australia are desperate to loosen the mental hold the New Zealanders have over them with a drought-breaking win on Saturday night.

"It's hard to isolate this feeling above others but the longer it goes the more determined you are to get that win," Mumm said. "There's a level of confidence there.

"It's hard to talk about it midweek before the game, I'd love to be talking about this on Saturday night after a victory."

Assistant coach Jim Williams said the side's motivation was palpable at training.

"There's certainly an edge," he said. "The way the players have interacted with each other has been excellent and the way they've brought that intensity to training, especially during our opposed sessions, it's obvious to see."

Williams said he had drawn on his experience of a tough period at Irish side Munster to deal with the streak against the Kiwis.

"It's a matter of just keep believing in what you're doing," he said. "Irrespective of the personnel that you have and who's around, irrespective of injuries, it's just believing in what you think you're doing is right."

The Wallabies and All Blacks name their sides for the fourth Bledisloe Cup clash on Thursday.

The All Blacks have already wrapped up the series 3-0.
