Rugby: Rieko Ioane sports black eye at All Blacks training after weekend incident

Star wing Rieko Ioane has joined his All Blacks team mates in training bearing a significant eye wound after a fracas involving a Blues team mate.

The Blues dismissed the incident as "high jinks" but the 21-year-old was sporting a nasty injury around his left eye at the All Blacks' Mt Smart Stadium practice session.

The injury was suffered at a private residence after the Blues slumped to defeat against the Melbourne Rebels at Eden Park and it required treatment at an A and E clinic.

"We were just poking fun at each other. It's not serious and I've apologised to my team-mates and the club," said Ioane.
