Rugby: Mauger all but gives up on All Blacks return

Mid-fielder Aaron Mauger admits his days as an All Black are numbered.

Mauger is one of several All Blacks heading overseas following their failed Rugby World Cup campaign. The 26-year-old has previously indicated he would have been keen to return to international rugby after his two-and-half year stint with UK premiership side Leicester, particularly for the 2011 Rugby World Cup campaign.

But now it seems Mauger has given up on that idea. He says it is a long way away and he does not know where he will be at that stage and what sort of shape he will be in. Mauger says he has probably played his last game for the All Blacks and it is only just sinking in.
