PARIS - Six members of Australia's World Cup-winning side were included in a team of the tournament published by French sports daily L'Equipe. France supplied five of the players and the team also included two South Africans, an Argentinian, but only one All Black - Jonah Lomu..
Captain John Eales and
number eight Toutai Kefu were the Australian forwards selected, along with scrumhalf George Gregan, centres Daniel Herbert and Tim Horan, voted the player of the tournament, and fullback Matt Burke. Lomu was the only New Zea-lander to make the XV after the All Blacks were knocked out by France in the semifinals in the upset of the tournament.
Frenchman Christophe Dominici, who like Lomu played on the left wing throughout the tourna-ment, was picked on the other wing, along with compatriots Christophe Lamaison at flyhalf and Olivier Magne, Abdel Benazzi and Franck Tournaire in the pack.
Flanker Andre Venter and prop Os du Randt were the players selected from the outgoing Springbok champions. Pumas hooker Mario Ledesma was the sole representative of teams from outside the recognised top eight rugby nations.

* The Springboks may have returned to a heroes' welcome from hundreds of fans in Johannesburg yesterday, but there was no letup in the campaign against coach Nick Mallett.
One newspaper, the Citizen, trumpeted: "You have failed. Third place is not good enough for the Springboks. When you inherited the team they were world champions, and they could still be if you had done your job properly."
