Rugby: Dagg on track for opener

One of their star backs may miss the start of the season but the Crusaders should have another key recruit.

Israel Dagg is on the mend from a long term thigh injury which kept him out of the All Blacks end of year tour.

Crusaders doctor Martin Swan says he's on track to play the opening match against the Blues.

Dr Swan says he's up to speed with his running and they're reintroducing a running programme.

But medical staff remain unsure if Sonny Bill Williams will start the season on time.
