Rugby: Collins to have shoulder surgery

Jerry Collins' participation in the pre-rugby World Cup conditioning programme has been shortlived, with the All Blacks flanker set for minor shoulder surgery tomorrow.

The 38-test veteran will have arthroscopic surgery and will be able to resume aerobic exercise about a week later and take part in contact training in about six weeks.

He is still expected to join the Hurricanes Super 14 campaign in late March.
