Rugby: Carter comeback delayed

Crusaders first-five Dan Carter's indicated he's still more than a week away from being able to take the field in Super 15.

Carter's been battling a hamstring injury since the side's win over the Sharks at Twickenham a month ago.

He says he's pain free but still only running at 50 percent.

He says he would put his hamstring at risk if he tried to run at full pace.

Carter says former All Blacks captain Reuben Thorne, who has been called-up to the squad from club rugby, will bring a lot of experience to the squad for their the trip to South Africa.
