The All Blacks look set to play an extra test against Argentina during the Tri-Nations.
International Rugby Board (IRB) chief executive Mike Millar has confirmed Sanzar has officially invited Argentina to play against the All Blacks, Springboks and Wallabies this year. It is on the condition Argentina wouldhave to field their strongest side and get players released from their European clubs.
Millar said new rugby union elections next week will be critical.
He said whoever gets elected will have some certainty of what they want going forward.
Mike Millar and other top IRB officials are in the country assessing Rugby World Cup 2011 progress and say they have no concerns.
The IRB is close to finalising the seeding system for the tournament, with speculation the current system which seeds teams on their previous World Cup performances could be changed.
On the World Cup, Millar also said he would like to see the capacity of Eden Park, venue for the semifinals and final, increased for the event.
The ground has resource consent to become a 60,000 seat capacity stadium for the 2011 World Cup. Eden Park Trust Board chief executive John Alexander has confirmed that is the maximum capacity.
But Millar said there may be the possibility of a few thousand extra seats and they are currently looking at the plans.
Millar also confirmed the IRB Council will vote in November to determine whether to introduce the new Experimental Law Variation's globally next year.
