News Limited unhappy with NZRU

News Limited are not impressed with the New Zealand Rugby Union's (NZRU) decision to keep out leading All Blacks from next year's Super 14.

They have hinted at the possibility of financial sanctions.

News Ltd corporate affairs director Greg Baxter has told an Australian newspaper his organisation is "very disappointed" the New Zealand union did not consult it before taking the decision.

News Ltd has a five-year broadcasting rights deal with the Sanzar unions.

Under the terms of the deal, it is understood the three national unions are required to make every attempt to ensure they field their strongest possible teams.
