Gold for Boxer David Nyika and Women's Hockey on Day Ten of competition

The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs have highlighted an enthralling Saturday night of footy with a monster upset 27-10 over the North Queensland Cowboys.

Johnathan Thurston's men failed to deliver on their home turf as the struggling Dogs found form in an explosive first half.

Earlier in the night, the Warriors were denied their sixth win in a row by the Brisbane Broncos, who sent the home side spiralling 27-10 in Auckland.

The final win of the night went to the Canberra Raiders, who were the only side to snag a hometown victory with a dominant 18-2 win over the Parramatta Eels, serving the dismal western Sydney club up their eighth win in a row.

The Warriors let through an early try as Broncos star Corey Oates slipped through the home side's defence for the first points of the day.

Jamayne Isaako slotted the conversion in to put the Warriors on the back foot, but the 5-0 bolters weren't keen on letting the early momentum get to them.

David Fusitua charged over on the right wing in the 10th minute to answer the Broncos' try.

Shaun Johnson converted the try and quickly followed it up with a handy penalty goal served up by the visitors to bring the score to 8-6.

The Warriros hit back shortly before halftime with a try under the posts from Blake Green to equalise, but Broncos half Anthony Milford had the last laugh with a field goal on the bell to leave the game poised at 15-14 in the visitors favour.

The Brisbane Broncos rushed back into the game in the second half with an early try to Jaydn Su'a in the 45th minute to pull the visitors' lead to 21-14.

A second try to Jamayne Isaako from the wing in the 63rd minute stole the momentum from the rampaging Warriors and took the lead to 13 points.

Warriors rocked by injuries

Shaun Johnson went over for a try in the 71st minute but failed to convert.

Time eventually ran out for the home side as the final bell rang at 27-18, ending their best-ever streak to begin an NRL season and widening the gap between themselves and the Dragons in first place on the ladder.

Cowboys vs Bulldogs

Two early penalties to the Bulldogs put the visitors ahead by four before the Cowboys could blink.

The game began to slide further in the Bulldogs' favour after a freakish piece of luck saw Marcelo Montoya squeeze through for a try on the wing.

A kick from Kieran Foran bounced off Johnathan Thurston's headgear and into the hands of Josh Jackson, who offloaded it along to the wing before North Queensland could react.

Fans took aim at the struggling home side, and particularly skipper Thurston, for giving away a bucket of penalties before the halftime bell.

The Cowboys went scoreless through the first half, which was rounded off by a field goal from Kieran Foran on the 40-minute mark.

The visitors drove the sword into the home side further after the break with a try to lock Adam Elliot in the 50th minute.

Elliot muscled his way over the line right near the posts and served up a juicy conversion for Moses Mbye to bring the score to a clean 25-0 by the final 20 minutes.

The Cowboys won back some faith late in the piece with a try to Kyle Feldt on the wing to put themselves on the board in the 62nd minute.

Jason Taumalolo looked to have the Cowboys in double figures with a try in the final 10 minutes but was denied after the Bunker revealed a pass from the home side went to ground.

Raiders vs Eels

Canberra have continued their NRL resurgence, inflicting more pain on winless Parramatta in driving rain at GIO Stadium.

The home side put the ball over for two tries before the 20th minute to kick off the final game of the night in style.

Jordan Rapana broke through in the 10th minute on the wing after a strong set from the Raiders saw them on the Eels' doorstep in the right corner.

Jarrod Croker missed the conversion but it didn't matter as Blake Austin slid over the line seven minutes later with a silky dummy pass to pierce his way through the defence.

The Eels were granted a tiny piece of luck late in the piece as Clint Gutherson's knee scraped past the ball before Rapana could go over for his second.

Josh Papalii later scored in the 53rd minute after halftime with a strongman's charge through the Eels' defence under the posts to further sink the Eels.

Ricky Stuart's side ensured Parramatta suffered an eighth-consecutive loss, dating back to last year's qualifying final, slumping to a 0-6 record for the season.
