NRL: Nielsen on the move?

The Warriors are in discussions with Dane Nielsen's agent regarding his playing future but are unwilling to clarify the situation as talk increases that the 29-year-old is set to join a Sydney club.

Months of speculation over the former Queensland State of Origin representative's future intensified overnight following a tweet from Warriors centre Konrad Hurrell which read: "Last dinner with this guy before he leaves to go to Sydney!Seeyah soon King Kong #DANGER #oua @09friendy @GlenFisiiahi"

Accompanying the message was a photo of Nielsen dining together with Hurrell and Warriors hooker Nathan Friend.

"We are in discussions with Dane Nielsen's agent at the moment but nothing is confirmed," said Warriors director of football Dean Bell.

Bell would not elaborate on details of the talks or the clubs plans but it is expected more information might be available in the next couple of days.

Reports suggest St George-Illawarra are one club in the running for his services and although Nielsen has a year remaining on his Warriors contract, speculation has swirled for several months that he could be on the way out of the Auckland-based club.

The former Cronulla and Melbourne player was linked with Super League club Hull before the deal fell through earlier this year.

With Hurrell, Ngani Laumape, Dominique Peyroux and new signing Matt Allwood on board the Warriors are well stocked with centre options for 2015.
